Outdoors activities and family friendly attractions abound in and around Columbia. Just a few moments away from Woodcreek Farms is the Clemson Sandhill Research & Education Center. Lakes, trails, public gardens, a farmers market and community festival are highlights there.

Sports fans can follow the Gamecocks of the University of South Carolina as they compete for Southeast Conference honors in major football, basketball and baseball facilities.

Local recreational soccer and baseball fields and full-service fitness and recreational facilities such as the Jeep Rogers Family YMCA and Columbia Jewish Community Center are nearby.

And, of course, there's golf. In addition to Woodcreek Farms' own championship layout, there are several courses nearby, dozens in the area and hundreds across South Carolina, including the major golf destinations of Hilton Head Island and Myrtle Beach.

Sesquicentennial State Park Just down the road from Woodcreek Farms, more than 1,000 acres of picnicking, paddling, hiking and sports fields.

Lake Murray Nearly 50,000 acres, big and deep and one of the nation's top bass-fishing tournament lakes. It's also home to a thriving striped bass fishery and one of the largest purple martin rookeries in the world.

Lake Wateree Another outstanding reservoir for fishing and boating, Lake Wateree is the state's oldest impediment of its size.

Congaree National Park South Carolina's only national park encompasses more than 25,000 acres of unspoiled bottom-land forest, including many state and national record trees for their species.

Harbison State Forest Dozens of miles of hiking and biking trails through woodlands astride the Broad River just minutes from downtown Columbia.

The Columbia and West Columbia River Walks Bustling walkways through preserved green space along several miles of the Congaree River.
